UW - STOUT First Year Application Specialist in MENOMONIE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20694 The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking an Application Review Specialist to serve as a key member of the Admissions team, within the Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives division. We are admissions professionals dedicated to recruiting, admitting, and enrolling the next generation of UW-Stout undergraduate students to meet the University\'s enrollment objectives. The Application Review Specialist is responsible for managing the process of importing all electronic applications, and reviewing, examining, and evaluating student applications. They will work collaboratively with Admissions team members and campus partners to provide exemplary customer service to students during the application process. This position exercises independent judgment, manages multiple priorities, and has a strong attention to detail. UW-Stout is seeking a team member who is committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive environment. The anticipated start date is May 27, 2024. RESPONSIBILITIES Use independent judgment to review applications and make admission decisions for incoming first-year and high school special students. Advise students, parents, supporters, and university personnel regarding the status of student applications. Process transcripts as needed. Assist with updates to student records in PeopleSoft and ImageNow to include not comings, application cancellations, and major changes. Calculate cumulative grade point averages when needed. Facilitate letter generation and send decision letters. Review final high school transcripts for admitted first-year students and place holds on student accounts in PeopleSoft. Collaborate with Advisement and Orientation offices to matriculate students in PeopleSoft before First-Year Registration and Orientation. Collaborate with other staff to troubleshoot issues, develop efficiencies, and capitalize on technology utilized in the execution of duties. Manage admissions email in coordination with other staff members. Maintain confidentiality of student records/sensitive information. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION The Admissions Office is part of the Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives Division and is committed to creating an inclusive campus community. The office is responsible for recruiting, admitting, and enrolling the next generation of UW-Stout undergraduate students. The office hosts campus tours for prospective students and their guests and oversees the processing of all applications. Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of administrative office work. Ability to make independent decisions and have excellent jud ment including sensitivity to personal and confidential information. Highly Desired: Earned bachelor\'s degree. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail. Evidence of effective customer service skills and ability to provide accurate service to diverse populations. Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of activities and projects simultaneously Previous experience in higher education Knowledge of student information systems (preferably PeopleSoft or Salesforce) and Imaging Systems (preferably Perceptive Software) and/or a willingness to learn new technology. Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, and resourcefulness.
