The Role The Mechanical Engineer in our Mentor, OH location will join a fast-paced Infection Prevention Technologies R&D team in developing new Sterilizers. You will interact with other engineering disciplines and cross functional team member during the development lifecycle phases from concept development through final release. The mechanical engineering position will utilize problem solving techniques and engineering principals such as statics, machine design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, material selection and fabrication to develop solutions for medical equipment. You will be involved in 3D Modeling, Design Controls documentation, Design Verification Testing and hands-on prototyping while developing new and innovative solutions for our Customers. What You Will Do Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D modeling software and analysis. Collaborate with other engineers, designers and technicians to ensure that all design aspects are aligned with the program's goals. Participate in product verification and validation actions. Communicate technical information to management. Work with outside vendors to ensure components used are appropriate for use and delivered on time. Create Drawings and bill of materials for assemblies and individual components. Create technical documents for testing, crating, shipping, installation. What You Will Need to be Successful Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum one year experience or an internship in a Mechanical Engineering role. Strong Verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational, planning, and scheduling skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment. 3D Modeling experience using SolidWorks, Creo or other 3D CAD software. Basic Engineering Analysis Skills., Knowledge of basic drawing practices. Ability to travel domestically up to 10% - 20%. Preferred Experience 2 years' experience in product design, preferred. Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) experience (ANSYS), preferred. Pressure vessel design experience, preferred. Experience with PLM systems, preferred. Product testing and validation experience, preferred. Experience with sheet metal fabrication and welding, preferred. Skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics. Familiarity with design and manufacturing tools. Creativity, analytical and statistical skills. Ability to work in a lab environment.
