About your next Challenge as a Senior Specialist, Material Management :

The Senior Materiel Management Specialist is the reference for his/her group regarding procurement activities for customer parts to support maintenance and repair line operations across different sites while maintaining optimal inventory levels and putting in place logistic strategies. You will actively participate in the achievement of the department's objectives and quality standards by defining and updating performance indicators, and also managing the continuous improvement of procedures/processes in material management. You will be required to work closely with several different functions (production, finance, program, engineering, procurement, methods, etc.) to meet customer needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Be the main point of contact for the resolution of material management issues;

  • Take charge of the program improvement plan (revision of the plan, identification of new opportunities, monitoring of progress and execution, communication of progress, etc.);

  • Ensure the quality of inventory data (e.g. validity, accuracy, inventory locations, erroneous transactions);

  • Actively support the operation of computerized data systems, delegate some activities and put in place strategies according to the needs of the organization:

    - Rigorously monitor inventory levels and take charge of the necessary actions when needed; - Ensure that planning parameters are maintained for all parts and validate if adjustments are needed (e.g.: Min/Max, safety stock, lot size, etc.)
  • Anticipate future material needs et do recommendations to upper management on the next improvement projects to implement;

  • Improve and map different business processes in collaboration with colleagues from other departments;

  • Compare different practices on other projects that could be applied to similar problems encountered;

  • Implement tools that can improve the program's processes in materiel management;

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators to ensure high performance standards are maintained;

  • Act as a process specialist during audits, analysis of product impacts or requests for corrective actions;

  • Analyze material forecast and implement strategies using statistical methods and considering the various inputs from different specialists;

  • Prepare and submit material management reports to internal and external customers;

  • Communicate within and outside the organization with different departments and other supply chain actors.

    Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent;

  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant material management experience;

  • Very good knowledge of supply chain and inventory management concepts and processes;

  • Good knowledge of SAP and/or CMMS, an asset;

  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;

  • Advanced level knowledge for Excel;

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English (oral and written);

  • Teamwork, initiative, flexibility, project management and customer service are sought-after behaviors;

  • Good analytical skills;

  • Available to travel (10% of the time).

    Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and/or Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
