CSafe Design Engineer in Monroe, Ohio

CSafe is seeking a Design Engineer in Monroe, Ohio to join our world class global engineering team!  In this role, you will provide provides technical and CAD support to the engineering team in the form of design, drafting, testing, analysis, documentation, and related skills for engineering projects for CSafe's thermal shipping solutions and data products. Essential Functions:

  • Develop necessary 3D models, 2D drawings, & indented bills of materials required to complete designs per engineer's instructions from sketches, notes, or verbal instructions
  • Support Thermal Modeling & Lane Risk analysis using industry simulation software
  • Maintain properly archived data and follow correct drawing procedures, protocols & conventions
  • Write test protocols/plans, configure products, perform testing, analysis the results, and draft report for engineer
  • Ability to make engineering calculations for weights, center of gravity, load restraint and geometrics
  • Support internal/external manufacturing and suppliers to assure products conformance to our required high standards of quality and performance

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering relevant field, aeronautical engineering, biomedical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' of industry experience using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • GD&T certification strongly desired
  • Use of PLM / PDM data management systems desirable
  • Product development experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Organizational skills; able to meet deadlines
  • Understand product features, functions and failure modes at a technical level
  • Draft supporting documentation such as test protocols, test reports, work instruction and product/user guides
  • Follow processes and procedures to ensure integrity of product design.
  • Develop and audit product data structures (CAD data) as well as BOM's (product /ERP data)
  • Experienced user of 3D modeling and 2D CAD software (Solidworks) and Product Data Management (PDM) platform (Arena Solution) is essential
  • Knowledge of engineering change control processes via Product Life Management (PLM) would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of programs. Must be proficient user of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Define, create, read and understand technical drawings and bills of materials (BOM) relative to industry standards
  • Strong attention to detail, high accuracy, excellent workmanship
  • Quickly adjust priorities based on business needs
  • Must possess analytical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to self-manage 
  • Must be thorough and exercise attention to detail
  • Must be a team player
