Aston Carter Senior Staff Accountant in Montebello, California

Description:

This position maintains financial records and ensures financial transactions are properly recorded. As part of this process this person will identify and record monthly accruals, amortizations as well as analyze/reconcile account balances.

BLENDED WORK SCHEDULE

Eligible for a mixture of onsite and remote schedule of 4 days on site and 1 day work from home per week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Regularly work within the General Ledger and prepare journal entries for monthly closing.

• Manage income and expenditure accounts (i.e. marketing analysis, legal analysis, freight analysis)

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis including but not limited to cash accounts, accounts receivable, prepaids, payables etc.

• Commission calculations for sales team.

• Prepare accounting reports and assist finance department with budgets.

• Assist with audits i.e., year-end, bank audit, insurance audits etc.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly bank reporting requirements.

• Review and respond to tax notices and coordinate with our tax preparers for resolution.

• Other tasks as needed.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting

• 3 + years of related experience in accounting

• CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus, but not required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAGE 100 a plus.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus but not required.
