Catalent Pharma Solutions Project Engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina

Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Morrisville, NC is hiring a Project Engineer for the Engineering team. The Project Engineer is responsible for providing management of multiple capital projects simultaneously across the site. This may involve lab instruments, manufacturing equipment, or associated utilities. This includes projects related to new product introduction (NPI), equipment reliability & total productive maintenance (TPM), cost containment, efficiency improvements, and regulatory compliance. The position is responsible to interface with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and external customers.

This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

The Research Triangle Park (RTP) facility is Catalent's Center of Excellence for Analytical Services and is also home to Catalent's Inhalation franchise including product development, clinical and commercial manufacturing for pMDI, DPI and Nasal Sprays.

The Role

  • Coordinate planning and execution of assigned projects from initiation to closeout in accordance with Global Engineering Standards (GE01 CAPEX) and site standards

  • Ensure good communication with the project team, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and area owners

  • Create and maintain project schedule to ensure timely delivery of assets placed in service and escalate potential delays as they arise

  • Create and maintain project budget to ensure project spend is within budget, including monthly reporting of actuals and forecast

  • Assist Procurement in all procurement activities for assigned projects, including assisting in contract negotiations and vendor selection of outside resources, services, equipment/instrument/utility purchases, and materials

  • Develop project staffing plans and execute throughout the life of the project

  • Provide direction and alignment with stakeholders on project scope to ensure business need is met

  • Assist subject matter experts with design reviews, factory/site acceptance testing, and qualification activities as required

  • Execute projects according to approved Standard Operating Procedures and aligns with good engineering practices

  • Maintain external relationships as required for project execution with vendors, landlords, and government authorities

  • All other duties as assigned;

The Candidate

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering or a related field is required

  • 3 or more years of experience in Project Engineering is strongly preferred

  • Understanding of project management principles and project lifecycle phases

  • Working knowledge of cGMP principles and safe work practices, as related to the engineering and maintenance function within an FDA regulated environment

  • Ability to write project proposals, generate business cases, present technical data, and write standard operating procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID, as applicable to the equipment/project engineering function

  • Strong analytical reasoning skills, as well as root cause analysis and problem solving

  • Able to write, read, understand, and interpret technical instructions

  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
