As an Analytics Project/Team Leader you will be the technical lead and key contributor in the strategy, and methodical analytical investigation for improving quality, understanding opportunity for parts growth, and developing dashboards for the Specialty Products product lines. You will lead analysts and engineers tasked with solving problems of low-to-medium complexity or business impact. You will provide strategic direction and technical guidance to contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative analysis tools, mentor, coach, and teach team members, and deepen your professional network.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Use quantitative methods such as business simulations, data mining, and advanced statistical techniques to solve problems for internal and external Caterpillar customers.
Lead & develop analytical tools for quality & business needs
Provide technical guidance on various tools (to include quality & business information, and dashboards)
Evaluate and promote new processes, communication platforms, dashboards, or analysis strategies
Communicate results to leaders, customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Caterpillar Inc.; its products and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and its relevant external influences (competitors, laws and regulations, market conditions, etc.) to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Serve as the principal communicator with clients about the status of their project and the solution
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
1-3 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis
Product design or development experience
Must be proficient with MS Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point; and a statistics package like SAS, SPSS, or MiniTab
Must be proficient with R, Python, or analytical programming software
Must have knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau or other analytical communication software
Effectively show leadership, initiative, interpersonal skills and ability to communicate
Top candidates will also have:
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar field with quantitative coursework
MBA or Master’s degree
Must be comfortable working industry standard data visualization and statistics packages
Must demonstrate strengths in leadership, initiative, delegation, judgment, planning and organizing, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of Management, as well as with team members
Demonstrate strong analytical skills, with a keen sense to manipulate large datasets
This position does offer relocation
This position requires 10% or less travel.
