Hydraulic Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineer
CTCT (CaterpillarTrimble Control Technologies) is recruiting for an exceptionalHydraulicSystems Modeling and Simulation Engineer,with expertise in the developmentof simulation plant models of electro-hydraulic systems and applying thesimulation models in the development of embedded real time automatic feedbackcontrol systems of mobile Industrial machinery, to fill an opportunity inPeoria, IL.
TheHydraulic Systems Modeling and Simulation Engineeris responsible for the hands-on design, implementation and validation of thedevelopment of the controls plant modeling and simulation of electro-hydraulicsystems. Mathematical Modeling, Physical Modeling, system identification, andother tools are used to develop the simulation models. Responsibility alsoincludes successful deployment of the models to Control Engineers in thedevelopment of guidance and control strategies.
Success in this position involves working effectively withthe application domain experts, and within the established process framework,and demonstrating a set of fundamental hydraulic, controls plant modeling,control systems, signal processing, and engineering skills that result inpredictability in engineering, scheduling and the quality of the productsdeveloped.
JobDuties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Full life-cycle development of controls plant modeling solutions within the process framework established for the project. Contributes to the continuous improvement of these processes.
Workswith the project team, application domain experts and customers, to establishachievable requirements.
Activeparticipant in project management through identification of project goals,establishing useful milestones, task breakdowns, and effort estimates tosupport project scheduling, project tracking, and change control decisions.
Selfdriven design of controls plant modeling of electro-hydraulic mobile systems,as well as validation that the designs meet established requirements.
Leadstechnical design reviews as required by the project framework.
Maintainsand archives design documents, models, source code, modeling standards and bestpractices, and other work products necessary for the project.
Asnecessary, works independently or with quality assurance personnel to plan andimplement validation of the developed plant modeling solutions.
Otherduties as required and requested by management.
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering curriculum
8 years job related experience in Engineering
8 years experience in the development and deployment of plant modeling of electro-hydraulic systems
3 years experience of MATLAB / Simulink and Model-Based control system development

Plant Modeling using Physical Modeling tools,hydraulic system identification
Demonstrated experience with Data Acquisitionand CAN (Controller Area Network) based data processing to support theanalysis, design, testing and validation of the developed plant models
Experience with the development of real timeclosed loop feedback control of electro-hydraulic systems
