Requisition Summary We are looking for a driven Powertrain Performance Engineer for our Powertrain Integration and Performance group. Specific focus will be heavy duty vehicle powertrain performance of the North American PACCAR engine families. The selected individual will work in a global cross-divisional team to develop the best performing Powertrains for North America. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities Uses sound engineering principles and experience to develop test procedures to conduct targeted BEV powertrain development and performance testing. Supports initiatives to benchmark and test all PACCAR and competitive powertrain systems and provide subjective and objective feedback. Supports technical analysis on benchmarking of PACCAR and competitive powertrain systems for heavy and medium-duty vehicles with focus on fuel economy and drivability analysis. Supports powertrain test cell activities for powertrain software development, integration and optimization including advanced predictive features. Works with suppliers on software and hardware updates and deliveries on all powertrain systems. Provides technical analysis and input for new powertrain systems, advanced predictive features, and emerging powertrain systems. Actively participates in on vehicle development, verification, release and implementation of software for North American vehicles and aftermarket support. Provides relevant input to the development, communication and management of vehicle development plans, including timing, quality and budget. Supports embedded engineering group with new product requirement definitions and software prototyping initiatives. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience preferred. Sound knowledge of simulation and modeling tools for powertrain Simulation, as well as engine and transmission control systems. Self-directed, excellent analysis and engineering judgment required. Previously demonstrated ability to manage complex projects required. Prior experience developing and testing powertrain products for vehicles preferred. Sound knowledge of test cell and in vehicle performance calibration, calibration tools, and engine and powertrain control systems. Organized and disciplined with ability to manage personal workload and a willingness and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including the delivery of formal presentations. Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate quickly and effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to develop trusting business relationships. Knowledge of the Advanced Product Quality Process preferred. Ability to travel up to 20%.
