Caterpillar, Inc. Quality Analyst in N. Little Rock, Arkansas
As a Quality Analyst, you will investigate, analyze, andlead corrective action for a wide variety of manufacturing and process issuesrelated to internal, supplier, field, and new product quality for models builtat NLR.Work with partners withinCaterpillar and at external suppliers to resolve issues, prevent recurrence,and continuously improve product quality.
Analyze and solve problems on a widevariety of issues related to manufacturing processes such as welding,machining, painting, assembly, and test as well as components in the areas ofstructures, powertrain, hydraulics, electronics, software, engines, cooling, aftertreatment, and operator controls.
Investigate and correct qualityissues for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs including risk assessments,validation plans, control plans, and inspection plans. Manage issue capture activities during NPI buildsand lead issue resolution for manufacturing issues found during NPI builds andfield follow activities.
Investigate and correct qualityissues for internal, external, and interplant supplier quality issues. Coordinate related activities at North LittleRock or supplier locations. Thoroughlydocument quality issues and quality performance.
Understand details of engineeringdrawings and specifications to aid in assessment of conformance ornon-conformance of a variety of conditions in manufactured components.
Work collaboratively with colleaguesinside and outside of Caterpillar including design engineering, manufacturingengineering, global purchasing, external suppliers, Cat interplant suppliers,and machine and subsystem product groups.
Act with urgency to continuouslyimprove manufacturing operations at a Caterpillar machine factory.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Top candidates will also have:
Ability to travel up to 10% of thetime to visit suppliers and Caterpillar facilities in the U.S. and abroad.
Proficient using MS Excel andPowerPoint
Experience as a quality auditor, qualityanalyst, quality engineer, or manufacturing engineer is highly desirable.
Experience with engineeringdrawings, geometric and dimensional tolerancing, engineering and manufacturingrequirements, and engineering specifications highly desirable.
Experience with Root CauseCorrective Action (RCCA) problem solving process highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and anability to build positive working relationships with coworkers.
