Job Summary:

An entry-level research assistant position is available in A lab in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. The recruited person will work with the researchers in the laboratory studying immune system and immunologic functions of mice and humans under a number of pathological conditions. This position requires a willingness to work with rodents and infectious agents, and to work sometimes on an irregular schedule

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prior experience with biochemical or molecular biological techniques is desirable but not required. Responsibilities include maintaining mouse colonies, performing and monitor mouse treatments, performing mouse genotyping, performing general lab maintenance and preparing stock solutions, isolating several cell types from sacrificed mice using sterile technique, and performing bioassays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, colorimetric detection of protein and lipids. It is also required that the person can work cooperatively with others in the lab.
