Google Performance Validation Engineer in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience with performance characterization and software.

  • Experience in C or C++, Linux Shell scripting, and scripting with Tcl or Python.

  • Experience with CPU architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in performance bottleneck analysis of AXI interconnects and DMA engines using hardware performance monitors.

  • Experience in implementation and/or bring-up of custom/standard performance benchmarks for CPU and programmable IP (TPU, GPU, ISP…etc).

  • Experience in RTL simulation, Zebu emulation and/or Silicon bring-up/debug.

  • Understanding of modern computer/SoC architecture.

In this role, you will be working on performance verification in emulation and on silicon. Specifically, at the system level, you will validate memory performance, computational bench-marking, and key camera application performance correlation with simulation results.

  • Work with Architects and the Performance Verification lead to develop emulation and post-silicon verification plans, to ensure the performance quality of the product.

  • Become familiar with the programming model for one IP in a custom SoC.

  • Execute the performance testing plans in emulation and on silicon with the developed benchmarks.

  • Debug any discovered performance issue by facilitating hardware performance monitors, and analyze collected performance stats with architects.

  • Develop and validate the functionality of benchmarks required by the performance verification plans.
