Job Description Summary

The Sr. Engineering Manager provides program management experience to designated assignments for a client account, and large facility/complex office campus through interaction with the client, facility management team, and project management staff. Monitors and coordinates the execution of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services and processes relating to client contracted agreements and SLA's in an integrated facilities management environment. Works closely with and provides detailed progress reports to senior management across several business lines.

Job Description

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage and mentor multi Engineering staff
  • Manage a complex Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program, across a wide variety of locations with varying Infrastructure and Business criticality. Oversee all repairs, while offering alternative solutions to increase life and reliability of Client assets.
  • Clear and consistent interaction with CW strategic vendors and all members of the facilities management organization, including senior management, Facility Managers, Project Managers, Shift Leads and Field Technicians.
  • Participate in structuring the selection of professional partners and advise on final recommendations. Evaluate existing and proposed project sites and facilities with respect to program requirements. Ensure the resolution of programming issues through project completion.
  • Ability to create defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) around program goals and initiatives.
  • Work in an autonomous role contributing to team collaboration and partnership to ensure a successful program outcome. Obtain buy-in for organizational changes, team commitments, and expenditures in excess of approved budget.
  • Advise members of the operations & project team with respect to base building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing needs. Evaluate and critique the progress of design development, project scope, budget and schedule from a client point of view - recognizing that base building and interiors issues overlap and are part of an integrated system. Provide work/time recommendations for ongoing support of a site or building for all MEP preventive and reactive workflow.
  • Maintain high qualitative and quantitative standards of work performance. Work with multiple business lines, with the approval of appropriate supervisors; delegate to each necessary authority and responsibility for performance of assigned functions.
  • Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle. Identify and develop trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders. Coach, mentor and motivate project and program teams.
  • Ensure project design meets guidelines or approval is obtained for any deviations.
  • Recommend for approval of value engineering efforts while ensuring systems will function to support typical building operations.
  • Coordination with Project team to review commissioning protocols to ensure equipment and sequence of operations are adequately tested prior to handover from projects to facilities.
  • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices. Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Observe corporate policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Industry and/or military experience in lieu of degree will be strongly considered.
  • Current P.E. registration preferred.
  • Minimum of7-10 years directly related experience in an engineering/construction project accountability role or a minimum of 7 years equivalent combination of experience in an advisory and/or engineering supervisory capacity required in corporate office and facilities market sectors.
  • Previous experience in managing mechanical, electrical and plumbing retrofits.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects within an existing and operational environment.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing design, operations experience, startup, commissioning (fundamental and enhanced), retro-commissioning, and witness testing, commercial interior construction, or ground-up building construction.
  • Excellent client relations, client management, and consultation skills required.
  • Proven leadership ability, administrative ability, technical background and project responsibility experience required.
  • Experience and ability to follow mandated process and maintain compliance with detailed administrative procedures.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills required.
  • Software Competency: Google suites, Microsoft Office with emphasis on Project and Excel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and standards, including LEED and green building requirements.
  • Ability to consistently analyze and execute financial trade-offs which may or may not involve dealing with incomplete data and ambiguity.
  • Highly organized and strong analytical skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May be required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions. Will require frequent visits to active construction sites.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $158,950.00 - $187,000.00
