We are offering a unique opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Gas industry based in OMAHA, Nebraska. This role involves a wide range of general accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position offers a great contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage general accounting operations by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

• Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues

• Maintain a master list of monthly journal entries

• Record and analyze the company's financial information

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in the accounts

• Assist with the monthly closing process

• Maintain strong Excel skills for effective data management

• Work independently, demonstrating the ability to work in a team environment

• Utilize skills in account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting

Requirements

• Proven experience in the Gas industry is preferred

• Must have worked in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is necessary

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• High level of integrity and dependability

• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
