Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output.

As a manufacturing engineer, you manage the value stream of a number of products.

This value stream starts at different suppliers of raw materials or subassemblies, runs through a number of internal and external production steps, until the products are delivered to the customer.

You organize this responsibility yourself, with all levels involved, to achieve the best possible process.

This means that you fulfill a wide variety of tasks within this job.

Tasks and Responsibility:

• You provide daily technical support in the internal production process, analyze problem situations and work out appropriate solution.

• You are the direct contact person for all operational departments.

• You accurately monitor the performance of the various processes based on production data such as number of pieces produced, total efficiency, number of rejects and other information shared daily.

• Within the framework of continuous improvement, you work out well-founded solutions to improve processes and products. Typical goals here are: improving product quality, increasing efficiency, reducing the number of rejects, making processes more robust, reducing product and production costs, reducing changeover times, etc.

• You work well with different teams ranging from product and process design, tool design, line programming, logistics, maintenance to operators and many other support departments.

• You bear ultimate responsibility for processing and following up internal and external customer complaints with the known techniques of 8D, 5why, fishbone, ...

What your Background should look like:

• You have a Bachelor/Master in a technical direction or are equivalent through experience

• You have good language skills (very good knowledge of Dutch, English is a must, German is a plus)

• You have in the first place a technical and hands on mind set that enables you to dive into the complex assembly techniques of our automated production lines.

• Typical processes involved can be a combination of cutting and bending of contact material, assembly of contact material and plastic housings, coilwinding, different micro welding techniques, inlay injection molding combining contact material and other parts in a plastic housings, assembly of different sub components, a variation of different quality testing systems such as vision technology and electrical testing. You have and are willing to develop the power to analyze and see through these processes with the purpose to bring the necessary improvements.

• Besides the technical skills you are also able to work on quality, planning, training related topics, making you multidisciplinary employable.

• You are a strong coordinator and communicator, and a real team player. You are proactive.

• Your analytical skills are highly developed. You are practical and results-oriented

• 6 Sigma knowledge/interest is a plus
