Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern

The Hourly rate for this position is $25 per Hour.

What you’ll do:

The Mechanical Design Engineer Intern will support current mechanical design engineers. The engineering intern is responsible for supporting the DE they are assigned to work with, and duties may change as specific assignments are completed. This position is located in Orchard Park, NY.

• Responsible for adhering to the Safety protocols of the site.

• Perform basic engineering tasks under the supervision of an assigned engineer.

• Work directly with a full-time design engineer and assist with entering data in Enovia.

• Help with generating test plans/procedures for development hardware.

• Assist in the development lab with engineering testing.

• Analyze test data and report findings to the cognizant design engineer.

• Be able to manipulate solid works models as necessary to assist in design concepts.

• Work on multi projects in a team environment.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled and must be at least a Junior in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or BS Engineering Technology.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. Must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling software.

• Have a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software including, EXCEL, Word, Powerpoint, and Office.

• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Be able to work individually or in a team setting.

• Have some working knowledge of matlab, or other mathematical modeling software.
