Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding Engineering Hull Lead 1869 in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a job for an Engineering Hull Lead position with the company located in the Pascagoula, MS area.

Job Summary: The Engineering Hull Lead is responsible for supervising a group of department personnel, the products produced by the Functional Hull Design group, and ensuring project goals and tasks are accomplished.

Responsibilities: May coordinate work of engineering and production departments to implement fulfillment of the contract. Reviews and analyzes the Company's risk associated with performance requirements, delivery schedules, delivery estimates for completeness, consistency, and responsiveness to the requirements of the contract. Responds to all customer inquiries pertaining to assigned programs. Reviews, monitors, and processes all correspondence with customers.  Coordinates the submission of periodic reports. Coordinates documentation on vendor and supplier warranties. May advise planning, production and program management departments of Company's rights and obligations as set forth in the Contract. May compile data for preparing estimates for proposed contracts and otherwise coordinate with marketing and estimating departments. Responsible for the coordination of equipment, materials, products, or services by the Company in connection with contracts. Responsible for the management of required Functional Hull Design deliverables. This includes developing a schedule for issuing deliverables and ensuring deliverable are issued on time. Responsible for approving the technical content/quality of deliverables. Responsible for preparing, overseeing, and/or assigning design calculations and drawing development to support the Functional Hull Design of the project. Responsible for supervising project team members. Responsible for providing technical guidance as required. Responsible for providing support to the Production Design group within the Engineering Department as needed. Work with the Engineering Leads of the other engineering disciplines. Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Program Management and Production Personnel to ensure all program requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the project schedule. Responsible for attending regular meetings to provide status updates on various aspects of the project such as deliverable schedule, vendor furnished information, etc. Responsible for leading meetings with subcontractors, customer, and regulatory bodies. Responsible for the coordination and management of subcontractors including the technical content of their deliverables and adherence to schedule. Responsible for supporting the procurement of materials with the Supply Chain Management department, as well as developing Scope of Work for quotations.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or related discipline with minimum of 10 plus years in shipyard design and/or construction experience. The ideal candidate is proactive and resourceful, able to recommend solutions for problems that arise and provide direction as needed. Has a good understanding of all phases of marine vessel design and construction. Has experience working in the following areas: Naval Architecture -- Stability, Intact & damage calculations, incline/deadweight experiment, launch calculations, etc. Structure -- Scantling design and arrangement, welding, penetrations, repair. Outfitting -- Joiner equipment, foundations, windows & portlights, doors, hatches, manholes, inclined ladders, etc. Experienced in supervising others. Has a firm understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Experience interacting with production personnel, multiple design teams from several companies, customer representatives and equipment manufactures. Can communicate and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, customers, and subcontractors.  Has a strong working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (i.e. ABS, DNV, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, MSC, etc.) Kn wledge of various computer programs including AutoCAD, NAVIS, General Hydrostatics, Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge in FEMAP a plus.
