Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. Sr. Engineer, Model Based Development in Plymouth, Michigan

Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (ITCA) seeks a Sr. Engineer, Model Based Development to pursue state of the art development techniques to improve product fuel efficiency, robustness, and minimize time and cost involved in developing new products. Develop and configure tools for model based software toolchain, and provide engineering analysis from tests and simulation and reports findings. Develop, implement, and maintain model-based software and participate in the deployment of the model based development (MBD) process within ITCA. Develop and improve modeling capabilities, methodologies, processes, and tools. Develop specifications for software functions. Perform statistical design of experiment (DOE) models and optimizations for combustion tests and simulations. Conduct hardware performance analysis simulations and optimization tasks. Perform simulation and functional testing using Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, and Hardware-in-the-Loop. Contribute to the promotion of MBD techniques throughout powertrain and vehicle engineering process. Integrate, test, and validate software modules and components. Proactively work with Calibration Engineers who are responsible for testing and calibration release to optimize calibration content. Work with Isuzu global teams in the development of high fidelity models for powertrains, after treatments, and vehicles. Responsible for auto-coding of the production software in C according to automotive industry standards.

Position requires up to 15% travel domestically. Remote work permitted pursuant to ITCA's Emergency Remote Work Arrangements policy.

Qualifications: Position requires a Master's degree in Engineering or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as a Model Based Development Engineer, Powertrain and Vehicle Research and Development Intern, or a related occupation.

Requires experience in automotive research and development, with concentrated experience in automotive powertrain development. Requires advanced knowledge of automotive products. Requires considerable knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems. Requires excellent PC skills in Windows applications. Requires advanced skills in powertrain development as demonstrated by scholarly/industrial achievements. Requires the ability to organize and develop project goals and time schedules in area of responsibility. Experience can be gained during attainment of graduate degree. Requires up to 15% travel domestically. Remote work permitted pursuant to ITCA's Emergency Remote Work Arrangements policy.
