FirstService Residential Communications Coordinator in Rancho Santa Margarita, California

Job Overview:

The Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in crafting and disseminating messaging to SAMLARC residents. Leveraging strong writing and visual storytelling skills, the Coordinator will enhance external communications across digital and print channels. The Coordinator will create high-quality communications that reflect SAMLARC’s lifestyle programming, with a particular focus on social media content, website maintenance, and event marketing.

In collaboration with the Communications Manager, the Coordinator will analyze and refine content strategies to increase engagement. In addition, the Coordinator will support SAMLARC’s reputation for excellent customer service by acting as the first point of contact for office visitors and general inquiries. Compensation: $24 - $26 an hour

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation
  • Capture, edit, and publish photos and videos for promotional use
  • Leverage social media to build resident interaction
  • Draft written content, including targeted e-Newsletters, social media copy, and short articles (forwebsite and quarterly print magazine)
  • Design marketing collateral with an eye for visual storytelling within brand guidelines
  • Publish content across channels according to content/editorial calendars

Website Support

  • Edit website copy and design using a custom CMS, with a particular focus on Lifestyle contentand facility updates
  • Approve and remove users based on monthly resident reports
  • Review website content for general usability and relevance
  • Standardize website files (images, videos, documents) and alt-text data to improve accessibility
  • Collaborate with Communications Manager for large-scale platform development

Communications Strategy

  • Collaborate with Communications Manager to refine large-scale strategies and pursueoperational efficiencies.
  • Monitor local social media outlets for discussions of SAMLARC affairs and collaborate with
  • Communications Manager to draft responses
  • Coordinate with Communications Manager to prepare quarterly analytics reports (social media,email, website performance)
  • Organize and maintain files (documents, logos, images, videos) according to best practices

Visitor and Team Support

  • Promptly respond to phone, in-person, and email inquiries; obtain pertinent information prior toescalating to other departments.
  • Participate in Lifestyle events (set-up, break-down, and event photography/videography)
  • Set up audiovisual equipment (e.g., presentation displays, virtual meeting cameras, PPTs) asneeded
  • Prepare quarterly analytics reports (visitor logs)
  • Distribute incoming mail and deliver outgoing mail to Post Office at end of day

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in creating branded multimedia content such as graphics, videos, and infographics forvarious channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging content for various platforms such associal media, website copy, e-Newsletters, and print collateral. Familiarity with AP/Chicagowriting/editing styles preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal teams and residents in asolutions-oriented and positive manner.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies including social media management and emailmarketing.
  • Ability to analyze data to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make informedrecommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and pursue sharedobjectives.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, strategies, and technologies in the communications fieldand within the organization.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree (BA preferred) in marketing, communications, digital media, orrelevant fields
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Skills (Intermediate Level):
  • Photography & videography
  • Web design and website management
  • Canva
  • Project management software (Trello, Monday)
  • Adobe Acrobat & Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Google Workspace Suite (Drive, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Keep)
  • Social Media Scheduling (Loomly, Meta, Hootsuite)
  • Email Marketing (MailChimp)

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to lift, push and move equipment and furniture.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Outdoor setup work required for events.
  • Talking and listening occur continuously in the process of communicating with clients, guests,supervisors, associates, and vendors.
  • Must be able to communicate both on the phone and in person in order to resolve issues relatedto the business.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around the office and during outside events, including walking onuneven surfaces and standing for long periods of time.
  • Hours over and above normal office hours will occur, including evenings, holidays, andweekends. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs. SAMLARC Star Spangled
  • Spectacular event, SAMLARC Christmas Tree Lighting event, and SAMLARC Election are required events.

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • Must have a valid California driver’s license
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Must have State mandated vehicle insurance
