Job Responsibilities/Duties
This position is responsible for developing strategic approaches to improving relationships with the DOE and Regulatory Agencies. The Regulatory Interface Manager will provide support to the environmental protection organization in complex issues concerning the following areas of responsibility. The Regulatory Interface Manager will be responsible for TPA/Consent Decree programs, Ecological/Biological/Cultural programs, NEPA/SEPA programs, regulatory inspections, environmental training, supporting corrective action management process for environmental and assisting in continuing environmental compliance.
The Regulatory Interface Manager oversees and directs the activities of staff within the group or matrixed to others, as well as providing leadership in all aspects of day-to-day work. Reports to the Environmental Protection Manager. Scope also includes other assignments as given by the Environmental Protection Manager. Authority includes managing staff, assignments of personnel, salary actions, evaluations, training needs, and other activities as directed.
*Develop strategies for improving DOE and regulatory interface and communication
*Develop strategy for Stakeholder engagement
*Lead integration of TPA and Consent Decree milestones with TOC Contract and DOE
*Resolution of complex environmental issues
*Perform specialty and management assessments of Environmental Programs and compliance
*Environmental program performance measurements
*Support inspections of facilities and perform field work as appropriate for responsibilities
*Lead training opportunities as appropriate for staff
Required Qualifications
Grade 21:
BA/BS in Environmental Science, Sustainable Resources, Ecology, Conservation, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
Twelve (12) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in supporting inspections of facilities and perform field work is desirable.
Experience with regulator interactions or negotiations is desirable.
Technical experience demonstrating good communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
Experience in areas related to environmental regulations.

Compensation & Benefits
Grade 21:
Hiring Range Minimum: $138,700
Hiring Range Maximum: $174,900

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
