Your New Role

Under the direction of the quality manager, the CMM Operator responsible to operate the coordinate measuring machines and to carry out a wide variety of duties in respect to maintaining the accuracy of our "master" measuring tools with a positive cooperative attitude supporting both the department and departmental leadership. CMM operators are expected to facilitate solutions and possess excellent listening, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.

As a CMM Operator you will
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Take initiative to follow through on completion of tasks/projects.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to achieve results.
  • Operate CMMs to ensure accuracy for correlations and other activities.
  • Operate overhead cranes.
  • Ensure all gauges and fixtures are maintained and certified.
  • Perform capability / reliability studies.
  • Support all special projects (i.e. SMR's, Prototype, Repair).
  • Provide support to Perceptron Technicians to resolve dimensional and gauge related issues.
  • Provide support to all departments to resolve dimensional related issues.
What you will need to succeed in this role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent.
  • Experience within the automotive industry
  • Must have experience running CMM programs or equivalent Coordinate Machine programming experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.
  • Problem solving / Trouble shooting.
  • Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Manufacturing process.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Measure equipment and Metrology protocols.
