Robert Half Staff Accountant in Santa Barbara, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Santa Barbara, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting and administrative duties, ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our finance department. The role involves reconciling bank, credit card and GL accounts, processing accounts payable and receivable, and providing administrative support.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile bank, credit card and GL accounts on a regular basis

• Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently

• Assist with the month-end close process

• Perform financial analysis to support decision-making

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and draft financial reports

• Maintain Fixed Assets and computer replacement schedule

• Oversee state charity registration compliance

• Serve as the primary contact for all matters related to the organization's facilities or leases

• Ensure multi-state payroll tax compliance and 401(k) reporting compliance

• Administer employee benefits and prepare relevant tax forms

• Use QuickBooks accounting software proficiently to maintain financial records

• Utilize your Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) skills to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Carry out credit card reconciliation tasks effectively to ensure accurate financial records. Requirements • Applicant must possess strong knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in managing Fixed Assets is required

• Experience with QuickBooks software is necessary for this role

• Familiarity with Credit Card Reconciliation tasks is a key requirement

• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records and preparing clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Relevant certifications in Accounting may be advantageous.
