Amazon Business Development Manager, Amazon Local Selling in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Local Selling is on a mission to create a robust Omnichannel network where customers can find and purchase Heavy Bulky items from local retailers, available for door-step delivery and add on services. We are looking for an experienced Business Developer to help us build and scale an exciting Amazon business by recruiting large, new to Amazon Sellers for Local Selling.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and data-driven Business Developer who have a proven track record of delivering results in an ambiguous environment through thought leadership, disruption, testing, and building mechanisms that scale across the team with technology. They will be known for building winning partnerships that local retailer partners will identify as their greatest new growth lever for their business. They will have experience working with external technical teams on both standard and custom API integrations with the support of the Solutions Architect team. They will have a demonstrated ability to think from the retailers point-of-view, to initiate and launch growth drivers for the business, to work across functional areas, thrive in a fast-paced environment, support aggressive timelines, and pivot seamlessly across tactical and strategic requirements as the business grows.

Key job responsibilities

• Own, create and execute development of your lead pipeline creating long-term value in the sales funnel.

• Build and manage key relationships internally and externally to ensure pipeline health.

• Lead a test-and-learn environment that leads to technically based solutions that drive efficiencies and scale across the team.

• Create business and financial analyses, including revenue forecasting, lead monitoring, geographic expansion, and closed deals.

• Understand the technical requirements and needs of our Sellers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.

• Develop scalable insight-driven narratives with sound recommendations.

• Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and business teams to manage simultaneous time-sensitive projects.

• Build strong relationships with other Amazon team members.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a business development or sales role.

  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in achieving goals.

  • Excellent business and financial acumen and negotiations skills with the ability to drive strategic planning.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

  • Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.

  • Effective and energetic team player who is successful in an ambiguous deadline driven environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a business development or sales role.

  • Strong ownership and bias for action.

  • Experience with retail, e-commerce, and enterprise level sellers.

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.

  • Experience working with engineering and product teams to influence product improvements.

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
