Here’s the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking a Building Services Technician to join the Facilities Building Services Team at our new location Siler City, NC – the world’s largest silicon carbide materials factory. This position requires you to ensure the buildings, systems, vehicles, and grounds are maintained and conditioned as needed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and enable Wolfspeed team members to be productive while performing their job functions.

This is a full-time (day shift) position, with periods to remain on-call for non-routine events and emergencies. The position requires attendance during adverse weather conditions. The position is normally located in our Siler City, NC location but may require occasional travel to other locations in Greensboro and Durham, NC for training and assistance with projects.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Provide excellent customer service to support other team members by promptly servicing and repairing office equipment, HVAC systems, food and beverage appliances, indoor and outdoor lighting, and other facility furniture and fixtures.
  • Safely monitor, operate, and maintain equipment such as: rolling doors, dock levelers, HVAC equipment, air handlers, exhaust fans, commercial kitchen appliances, fitness center equipment, and low voltage electrical equipment in accordance with OSHA and job requirements.
  • Safely operate and maintain Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) such as mobile elevated working platforms, pallet jacks, boom lifts, and forklifts. Safely operate powered tools and vehicles to maintain landscaping, sidewalks, parking lots, outdoor lighting, signage, and to conduct snow removal and ice treatment.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and 5S standards of warehouses, utility rooms, fire support systems, roof, break areas, outdoor areas, and offices; including painting, changing lighting, maintaining signage, and repairing facility equipment as needed.
  • Routine use of computers and software to include Microsoft Office suite of products, SCADA, and CMMS for job performance and participation in training.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • Must possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's license to operate motor vehicles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance position within facilities or industrial settings, which can include military experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or nuclear maintenance/operation roles.
  • Experience in carpentry, lubrication, pneumatics, piping/plumbing repair, HVAC fundamentals, belt replacement, piping and electrical schematics, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with little supervision, allowing you to make decisions on how and when a project is completed.
  • Ability to maintain excellent team working relationships and ownership of equipment, participate in training, and train other less experienced personnel.
  • Ability to work with moving vehicles, ladders, scaffolding work at heights, able to work in confined spaces, and able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists and includes repeated actions of bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities.
  • The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surfaces.

This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
