Here’s the Gist:  

Wolfspeed is seeking an experienced Facilities Ignition Developer to join the facilities team at our new location in Siler City, NC – the world’s largest silicon carbide materials factory. As the Ignition Developer, you will be responsible for facilities SCADA systems serving factory utilities. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Siemens PLC programming/hardware troubleshooting, as well as Ignition SCADA. Advanced knowledge of network and automation engineering principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards and their application is a must. 

 

The Day-to-Day  

  • Work with colleagues at other Wolfspeed facilities and the global engineering team to develop and implement standards for SCADA system maintenance and operation. Ensure adherence to those standards at the Siler City factory. 

  • Conducts analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of Ignition SCADA 

  • Meets business requirements by developing and implementing Ignition developments and integrations.

  • Develops test plans and protocols for evaluation of system performance. Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes.

  • Recommends/Plans changes in development, maintenance and system standards.

  • Plan and execute system specification, design, architecture, and development.

  • Develop standards, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects or internal use.

  • Work with Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Engineers to improve efficiency of the systems across the site. 

  • Identify and resolve network communication issues. 

 

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related combination of experience and education required.

  • 5 + years of experience in Architecting end to end IOT application on Ignition Platform

  • Experience designing and building Scada solutions, ideally with Ignition.

  • Experience Integrating SCADA with Siemens PLCs.

  • Ignition Core and Gold Certification preferred.

 This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
