This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR). MNIT DOR helps manage the state’s revenue collection systems and administers state tax laws. The team is responsible for powering technology that collects over $30 billion annually.

As an advanced Project Manager, you will manage the development and enhancement of complex information technology and business solutions, systems, processes, and services. You will provide advanced project management and lead the development of large, complex information technology solutions in support of the Statewide Enterprise and the business. You will also support business analysis and quality assurance on large projects.

This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

  • Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

  • Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing IT project management functions for large scale business initiatives.

Experience must include:

  • Demonstrated achievements in IT project leadership, including planning, directing, and implementing complex projects on time, within budget and with desired functionality.

  • Managing all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of IT projects.

  • Experience in project management within an Agile organization.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

**A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or other project management certification.

  • Experience with technologies that span the complete spectrum of IT systems, solutions and process to support and enhance foundation infrastructure, services, business systems and enterprise software applications.

  • Experience with delivering custom developed systems for business, implementing Custom Off the Shelf (COTS) solutions and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for the business.

  • Experience working with diverse, remote teams, to motive and develop team members, promote, and acknowledge team accomplishments, and resolve interpersonal conflict.

  • Ability to ensure quality and consistency across multiple projects in the use of project planning, scheduling, scope and risk management, status reporting, change control, issues resolution and other project management controls and practices.

  • Experience mentoring and coaching other project team members.
