JOB SUMMARY: Market andpromote Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (CFSC) and CaterpillarInsurance Services Corporation (CISC) financial products and services toCaterpillar dealers and customers in an assigned territory.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provides professional representation in a given territory,which includes training for dealer management and support personnel concerningmerchandising, and financing programs for private entities and governmentalbodies.
2.Counsels dealer personnel about tax law changes, finance conceptssuch as discounted cash flow, time value concepts, computation of interest, andfinancial accounting concepts (expense allocation, depreciation write-offs andbalance sheet financing) etc. which are needed by dealer personnel to promotethe sale of Caterpillar equipment with financing from Caterpillar FinancialServices.
3.Initiates and develops good customer relations throughexplaining initial transaction quotations to customers, collecting customercredit information, answering technical questions, evaluating and attempting tomeet competitive offerings, and obtaining final customer acceptance oftransactions.
4.May have credit approval authority.
5.Verifies customer signatures on documentation, collectsinitial payment, and secures necessary insurance information for contractcompletion.
6.Administers existing financial contracts includingconducting field audits of financed equipment to verify location and ensureproper use.
7.Answers customer questions pertaining to property taxes andbillings.
8.Assists in the collection of past due amounts, overseesrepossession of equipment as needed.
9.Negotiates the restructuring of transactions to meetcustomer needs while meeting the expectations of Company management.
10.Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of Companyfinancing programs in a given territory.
11.Evaluates current market trends and supplies new forecastinformation to management for inclusion in the Company business plan.
12.Monitors economic activity in a territory, and reportsequipment market trends and competitive financial offerings to management.
13.Continuously evaluates growth areas and potential newmarkets for possible financing opportunities.
14.Assists CISC in developing a positive working relationshipwith Caterpillar dealers.
15.Assists the CISC staff in promoting insurance services toCaterpillar dealers.
16.Provides the dealer with all promotional material on thevarious insurance products, some of which are passed on to the end-user.
17.May explain the insurance products in detail and follows upwith the dealers on questions or problems.
18.Shows the dealer how financing and insurance can be sold asa complete package to meet customer needs.
19.Participates inaccomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.Progress toward accomplishment of these ismeasured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis ofassociated data.Participates in theidentification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
20.Understands the Harassment policy of the company and isresponsible for its application in all aspects of employment.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:
1.Advanced knowledge of Caterpillar products, their applications, and their markets.
2.Advanced knowledge of marketing and marketing techniques.
3.Demonstrated knowledge of financing and leasing products, policies and procedures of the subsidiary.
4.Advanced knowledge of credit and documentation procedures, processes and operations.
5.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply math computation skills including those used in financial modeling and forecasting.
6.Knowledge of CFSC credit policies and procedures and pricing models to negotiate acceptable pricing and terms on transactions.
7.Demonstrated ability to analyze the financial status of customers.
8.Demonstrated ability to define finance/lease markets.
9.Ability to drive a car or adequately arrange for transportation to and from dealerships, customer sites, etc.
10.Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer organizations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year university degree or equivalent diploma and a minimum of 3 years exempt experience in credit, customer services, collections, marketing, and/or financial statement analysis is recommended. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
