Ford Motor Company Supplemental (PRN) Associate, Nursing in Sterling Heights, Michigan

In this position...

The Supplemental Associate in Nursing, working under direction of the Senior Nurse and Plant Physician, will provide treatment and care to employees and assist with other tasks including physical examinations, diagnostic tests and other basic medical care in a timely, safe and consistent manner. You may be required to work any shift and a minimum 8 to 16 hours per week depending on needs of the location. In this role you are expected to administer company policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and maintain employee health records with accuracy and confidentiality. Additional training will be required to ensure understanding of applicable policies and procedures.

This is a union-represented salaried position.

What you'll do...

  • Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care.

  • Comply with all State and Federal laws and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Perform clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Work with the Sr. Nurse in OSHA recordkeeping and other assignments.

  • Calibrate and perform routine equipment maintenance.

  • Interface with other departments (i.e. H&S, Labor, W/C, etc.) as needed to optimize employee care and services.

  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to provide competent, professional and expedient health services to employees at all Ford locations in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and management.

  • Implement company policies, protocols and procedures as specified for pre-employment medical examinations, fitness-for-duty evaluations, return-to-work assessments, or specific medical surveillance exams in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Facilitate return-to-work and job placement per established guidelines.

  • Assist the physician in coordinating referrals, employee revisits and obtaining medical reports, test results and other documentation.

  • Maintain secure, accurate medical records and adhere to patient confidentiality.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry best practices such evidence-based nursing theories, models, concepts and principles.

  • Available to work all shifts

  • Available to work at 3 locations (SAP, MPG, VEPC)

  • Available to week at least 8 to 16 hours per week if needed

  • A minimum of 40 hours of Ford Medical Dept. orientation required

  • Proficiency in use of computers and data entry

  • Frequent lifting (up to 25 pounds0, walking, standing and sitting required. May involve exposure to varying temperatures.

Flat Pay Rate: $37.06 per hour

You'll have...

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Nursing

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Unrestricted state licensure in the state of practice

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • ER or Occupational Health Experience

This position is a salary grade 5.
