This Account Technology Strategist (ATS) role within our Microsoft Education business is ideally suited to individuals who thrive from working with business leaders and technical teams alike, whilst leveraging their industry, business and technical expertise. The purpose of this role

The purpose of the Account Technology Strategist is to support the digital transformation of our New South Wales (NSW) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT) University customers. You will be responsible for designing the strategy and architecture to drive the customer’s innovation agenda and ideate with them to inspire them around the possibilities that technology can provide. 

As the Account Technology Strategist you will have the opportunity to own and strengthen executive customer relationships, work as a thought leader, create long term strategies linking business, technology and industry needs and orchestrate teams of technical experts to provide the right solutions to your customer. 

Responsibilities

  • Customer and Industry Insights :

  • Synthesizes various business and education industry insights, including global best practices, case studies, and deep industry expertise.

  • Provides alternate perspectives to enable customers to consider alternatives and adapt strategies, plans, and solutions.

  • Addresses broader business challenges and delivers solutions by integrating Microsoft technology.

  • Trusted Advisor :

  • Provides thought leadership inclusive of IT, business strategy, and technology landscape.

  • Leverages deep understanding of customers to set strategy, lead extended teams, and provide technical guidance.

  • Acts as the voice of the customer, providing insights, feedback, and challenges to internal teams.

  • Technology Strategy Formulation :

  • Advises on gaps in customer situations that would benefit from Microsoft solutions.

  • Drives action to bring strategic, long-term vision to fruition.

  • Acts as a strategic link between Microsoft and the customer for building a technology strategy.

  • Technology Sales: Demand Generation and Orchestration :

  • Drives opportunities based on industry best practices and creates demand.

  • Develops plans to create and qualify opportunities for product and solution sales.

  • Leads technical teams to drive opportunities and reaches out to key stakeholders.

  • Differentiated Value Proposition :

  • Acts as the customer's Technology Mentor, advising on solutions and aligning Microsoft capabilities with customer needs.

  • Leads customer business transformations through digital technologies, ensuring business outcomes and value creation.

  • Captures line-of-business wins as references for scale.

  • Mapping and Account Planning :

  • Orchestrates internal teams and partner ecosystem for demand generation.

  • Bridges technology resources with the customer proactively.

  • Education and Thought Leadership :

  • Motivates and inspires technical resources towards customer's business transformation.

  • Delivers regular industry/technology engagements to drive execution and focus on competitive advantage.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience

  • 8+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience.

  • Experience engaging and managing relationships with CXO level stakeholders, cultivating strategic partnerships.

  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud platforms.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working within, or knowledge of Education regarded highly.

  • Experience overseeing numerous accounts.
