We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Civil Infrastructure team in Taunton. We’ve built a great reputation over the years and now we look forward to a period of further expansion ahead as we grow our presence in the South West and beyond.

Our Taunton office is situated in Lakeside House. Here, we have a friendly, close-knit team that work on a diverse range of projects from local community infrastructure schemes to large national infrastructure projects.

We are involved in various major development projects in Southeast and the surrounding area including Gravity, Filton Airfield and YTL Brabazon, YTL Arena, Horizon 38, The Vale, Bedminster Green, Bristol Airport and Bristol Temple Meads Station—to name but a few. You will support and oversee the production of designs, analysis and assessment for all types and scales of development projects. You will mentor and guide more junior Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.

You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level.

About you

Ideally you'll be MEng/BEng qualified and a Chartered Engineer. You will be focused of achieving coordinated solutions, a tactical thinker and effective at communicating with both internal and external parties (for example utility companies, drainage authorities, highway authorities).

Ideally, you will have expertise in infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery. You will have a proven record of delivering projects closely with clients across technical disciplines and experience of mentoring and managing the workload of junior team members. Skills with Civils 3D, MicroDrainage and utility coordination are advantageous.

Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions and managing of processes with regulators and local authorities is most crucial to your success in this role.
