Are you the person we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Quality Management Analyst who will apply their knowledge & experience with software quality standards, models, and processes to quality, functional safety, and cybersecurity certifications applicable to multiple industries including automotive, industrial, rail, medical, and general embedded. You will perform a wide range of assignments contributing to the corporation’s certified Quality Management System (QMS) including, but not limited to, quality and process assurance activities, participating in internal quality audits, and process engineering support for process improvement initiatives. You will:

  • Work with Quality Management leadership on the continual improvement of the BlackBerry QNX Quality Management Systems (QMS) towards meeting quality objectives and maintaining certification to ISO 9001.
  • Help drive continuous improvement and champion a quality, safety, and cybersecurity culture
  • Work closely with development and product management to balance safety, quality, and commercial requirements for customers in the automotive, industrial, medical, and other industries.
  • Conduct quality assurance process and work product audits for QNX software projects.
  • Conduct Functional Safety Audits and Confirmation Reviews for software safety projects.  
  • Lead and/or participate in internal and external ISO 9001:2015 quality audits.
  • Contribute to Quality and process related responses to customer Requests for Proposal (RFP), questionnaires, and quality agreements.
  • Support software development teams relative to quality and the product life-cycle model
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure the QMS supports functional safety certification activities for ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN50128 or other safety related standards.

The above describes essential responsibilities and activities. In addition, there may be other opportunities to work on project management and coordination for non-product corporate initiatives.

You will have:

  • Considerable multi-functional experience in the technology industry, particularly software development environments, with a focus on quality and project management.
  • Appropriate technology related degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal, written, project management, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong customer focus and services orientation.
  • Experience in Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Software Development process models, Quality Management Systems, architecture, design, and implementation Application and maintenance of Product Life Cycle models.
  • Previous hands-on experience in software development (requirements, design, code, test)
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of software quality management systems, quality control methodologies and tools.
  • Application and maintenance of Product and Project Life-cycle models.
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to identify gaps/issues/errors but tempered with pragmatism.
  • Ability to effectively manage time (e.g., working multiple projects at different stages of their life cycle, with different priorities).
  • Excellent relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills gained with multiple audiences including customers, top management, engineering teams, and sub-suppliers.
  • A high degree of motivation and ability to work successfully within a team & independently in a standalone role within a global environment.

Specialized Skills:

  • Direct experience with implementing a software development organizations’ compliance to one or more of the following quality-related standards: o ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System standards (mandatory) o ISO 26262 o IEC 61508 o ISO 21434 o SEI – CMMI o IEC 62304 o DO-178C o SPICE ISO/IEC 15504 and/or Automotive SPICE o EN50128
  • Management System auditing - preferably with ISO 9001 or ISO 21434.
  • Cybersecurity Management Systems (CSMS).
  • Proven knowledge of software safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or IEC 62304 (ideally across multiple levels).
  • Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) experience. Provisional or competent assessor is preferred.
