Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Engineer to join our team! As a design engineer, you will be responsible for the Fisher’s product development process includes a wide variety of activities, from brainstorming design concepts to developing and testing prototypes to putting the product into production in manufacturing facilities located around the globe. The responsibilities will include designing, analyzing, and documenting new products, as well as working with other team members to plan and coordinate project activities.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Collaborate with the marketing team to define new product requirements and orchestrate the development of pioneering design concepts, ensuring alignment with market needs and trends;

• Develop innovative design concepts employing the latest design and manufacturing technology as applicable;

• Perform and document engineering design calculations and analysis using computer-aided tools;

• Generate product technical specifications, technical assessment plans, and test plans;

• Create design documentation, specifications, and procedures; check and approve design drawings;

• Work closely with CAD team to create detailed 2D/3D drawings;

• Collaborate with manufacturing to place new product designs into production;

• Work with suppliers to coordinate the creation of engineering prototypes, ensuring consistency to quality standards and design specifications;

• Follow through with verification and implementation of design concepts into production;

• Liaise closely with global product engineers to support product launch and lifecycle management;

• Investigates and applies relevant industry standards to new product development;

• Support the long-term vision and management of the business unit’s product portfolio;

• Assist with other project activities as assigned.

Who You Are:

The Design Engineer is tasked with orchestrating the creation of innovative valve and actuator products, spearheading the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases. This role encompasses driving cost-effective enhancements and extensions to current product portfolios. The primary responsibility involves leading all aspects of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, engineering groundbreaking solutions, navigating the entire product lifecycle, and delivering high-performance, industry-leading products. The Design Engineer will be a member of a multi-functional product development team with Design Engineers, CAD Designers, and Test Engineers, as well as representatives from global Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Suppliers and Customers.

For This Role, You Will Need:

In general, Design Engineer will use the technical and leadership skills in the development of new product designs. A motivated self-starter with an understanding of engineering fundamentals and general application.

• Demonstrating creative ability required with solid analytical skills.

• Possessing effective communication and exceptional interpersonal abilities.

• Exhibiting confidence and composure under pressure while adeptly managing and resolving crises.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Minimum of 1 year of design experience in valves, actuators, gearboxes, process control industry

• Solid understanding of SolidWorks software

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
