Eaton Corporation Factory Manager in Tijuana, Mexico

Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel & Electrical Distribution (FED) Division is seeking a Factory Manager to join the Tijuana Plant. Relocation assistance is available from within Mexico.

What you’ll do:

This position will be responsible of leading operations at the Tijuana Plant with all the activities related to a Factory Manager for all existing products and processes on those lines. This position is responsible for overall management of a manufacturing cell lines. Overall responsibility for leading manufacturing team in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, customer satisfaction, financial measures and employee safety and employee engagement. Coordinates with all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements. Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. Leverages resources and motivates personnel to create high performance culture.

Essential Functions:

• Manages and directs all manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements.

• Assesses performance indicators, and takes appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met.

• Track key performance indicators with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and Culture.

• Ensures required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system, and financial reporting requirements.

• Assures policies, procedures and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product.

• Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity, and delivery performance.

• Supports product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met.

• Assures that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.

• Evaluates operational performance of the group to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, recommendations, etc.

• Develops budgets and resource plans, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements.

• Coordinates and assists with business initiatives, participating on teams to drive best practices across enterprise.

• Drive continuous improvement efforts through the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma Tools and Techniques.

• Lead the operation to implement Eaton Business System (EBS) towards the EBE Plant Certification.

• Ensure quality systems & procedures are maintained & effectively used by the manufacturing group.

• Demonstrate a leadership style that perpetuates the Eaton Values and Philosophy and the Eaton Code of Ethics.

• Identify & correct internal quality issues to ensure quality objectives are achieved. Identify and implement measures to meet customer standards.

• Provide technical leadership in the selection, design, development & installation of cost-effective manufacturing processes & techniques.

• Directs the manufacturing area to meet plant objectives. Provide input to support functions, as they relate to process improvement and program implementation.

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in operations management, engineering, supply chain, or related from an accredited institution.

• Fluent in English and Spanish

• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience required in a manufacturing/operations setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA from an accredited institution preferred.

• Experience in large multi-national manufacturing organizations with complex matrix structures.

Skills:

• Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes.

• Position requires excellent communications & employee relations skills & the ability to lead & motivate subordinates.

• Demonstrated ability in budgeting, forecasting, manpower planning, training techniques, human relations skills, supervisory techniques

• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.

• Solid knowledge of engineering, quality, and manufacturing processes.

• Extensive knowledge of SIOP process which includes forecasting, scheduling, capacity, analysis, and inventory management.

• Expertise in driving business process improvement initiatives.

• Proficiency in Problem Solving Methodologies and Statistical Quality techniques.
