They will work as an integral part of an Agile Scrum team–a highly productive team of technical professionals who thrive on supporting the customer's mission and growth objectives. The individual will work in close collaboration with software developers/engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.

More About the Role:

  • Collaborate with the development team to understand application requirements and dependencies.

  • Design and implement cloud architecture solutions in AWS that meet DOD security and compliance standards.

  • Lead the migration effort from Azure to AWS, including assessing existing resources, planning the migration strategy, and executing the migration with minimal downtime.

  • Manage development deployments and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline the deployment process.

  • Develop and implement security controls to ensure compliance with DOD security standards and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the migration process, including architecture diagrams, migration plans, and security configurations.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team throughout the migration process.

  • Implement best practices to control costs, including monitoring usage, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing cost-saving strategies.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or 10 years of related industry experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of cloud engineering experience, focusing on AWS.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects, preferably in a DOD or government environment.

  • Strong understanding of DOD security requirements, including NIST standards and RMF processes.

  • Familiarity with DOD regulations, policies, and frameworks related to cloud computing, security, and compliance, including DOD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG), DOD Instruction 8510.01, and DOD Risk Management Framework (RMF). Experience securing cloud environments to IL4, IL5, or IL6 standards.

  • Experience managing development deployments and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python, PowerShell, or Terraform.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, AWS Config, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Security Hub, AWS Systems Manager, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), and AWS Key Management Service (KMS).

  • Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit), Terraform, or AWS SAM (Serverless Application Model) to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources.

  • Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and experience in implementing security measures in compliance with DOD security standards such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). This includes configuring security groups, IAM policies, encryption, logging, monitoring, and incident response procedures.

  • Experience in writing serverless functions using AWS Lambda and automating tasks using AWS Step Functions, AWS Batch, AWS Glue, or similar services. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, or PowerShell to develop automations and integrate AWS services.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred.

  • IAT level 2 or higher certification i.e. CompTIA Security + Active DOD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
