Waystar Sr. Specialist Network Engineer in United States

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are currently looking for an outstanding, brilliant, and driven Network Engineer to join our team immediately. This position will work with new and established technologies encompassing network hardware, software, routing, switching, and communication protocols. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with the Network Engineering Manager and network team to implement, configure, maintain, document, and troubleshoot existing, as well as new, network topologies and configurations throughout the SaaS Datacenter environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

· Works in a cutting edge and continually changing SaaS datacenter and cloud environments

· Works with the Network Engineering Manager on new projects that arise from business needs

· Works with the Security Team to establish a strong and compliant network stack.

· Demonstrate a working knowledge of network security both vertically and horizontally.

· Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

· Creates documentation that will be utilized in the deployment and maintenance of new technologies and systems throughout the company’s infrastructure

· Network automation

· Advanced knowledge of network operation systems including Cisco, Arisa, JunOS and IOS.

· Design and deployment of complex and secure connectivity within and across diverse datacenters using VPN and other technologies.

· Analyzes systems requirements and ensures that the systems will offer security, and will be effectively integrated with the current applications

· Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

· Develops and maintains an open and fluid communication relationship with the Network Engineering Manager

· Works with the Network Engineering Manager to determine the production environment requirements and needs, with acceptable deployment timelines and roadmaps

· Works with other teams to ensure successful transitions and the knowledge transfer of new technologies

· Evaluates and communicates to the Network Engineering Manager, areas that require new or improved technology solutions

· Brings to the attention of the respective parties, any problems that negatively impact the company’s infrastructure

· Develops and maintains a positive relationship with the network team and the team members of other departments

· Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Management, within the area of responsibility for this position

· Provides technical guidance and mentorship to the network team

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

· 5+ years’ experience supporting complex networks and firewalls in a datacenter environment

· Experience and working knowledge of Cloud networking in AWS and Azure.

· Experience with firewall administration and support primarily Fortinet & Cisco

· Experience with router and switch administration and support

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems with little oversight

· Can work independently on projects

· Ownership of individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

· Network monitoring experience, using PRTG or similar tools

· Working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS and other network protocols

· Can design solutions with the overall product direction in mind

· Able to plan and initiate a multi-sprint project

· Clear communicator across departments

· Demonstrated skills in working tactfully with people to resolve technical problems

· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
