Performs departmental transportation planning-related activities by drafting or performing computer entry work in support of plans, specifications and estimates; or participating in district/division level review of plans, specifications and estimates (PS E) and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness; and ensuring compliance with state and federal design guidelines. In a district, provides support to the residencies during their plan preparation process. Work requires contact with governmental agencies. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.Essential Duties:Participates in PSE review with other divisions and/or governmental agencies.Performs detail design and quantity checking of plans, specifications, and estimates.Responsible for PSE review for a district.Serves as liaison between district and divisions after submission of plans and related documents to divisions and answers.questions and/or helps resolve design problems.Answers inquiries on final PSE policies and proceduresAssists engineers in the review of PSE submissions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws,policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.Assists in PSE processing for letting, including reproductions and distributions.Prepares special specifications, special provisions, and supporting documents.Processes PSE revisions submitted by districts and divisions.Provides information to the public on proposed projects.Submits plans, specifications, estimates and supporting documents to divisions after completing final review. Uses computer applications to enter, revise, store and maintain PSE support documents and files. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
