Robert Half Associate Attorney in Walnut Creek, California

Description We are searching for an Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This role focuses on all aspects of case management, excluding trial and arbitration presentations, within the context of medical malpractice litigation. The position offers an exciting opportunity for those seeking to utilize their knowledge of medicine, law, and associated issues to develop effective case strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in formulating discovery and investigation strategies alongside trial and arbitration attorneys.

• Obtain agreement with claims specialists on defense preparation to ensure cost-effective completion.

• Prepare pleadings and responses to discovery requests.

• Attend court appearances and prepare lawsuits for trial/arbitration.

• Prepare motions as needed and respond to inquiries from the Claims Department.

• Prepare reports for claims at all stages of litigation in a timely manner.

• Comply with Defense Attorney Guidelines.

• Represent Member physicians at deposition in "Depo-only" cases.

• Use legal software such as LexisNexis and 3M Case Management Software for case management.

• Handle complaint administration and documentation tasks.

• Utilize skills in civil litigation, briefing, and claim administration for effective case management.

Skills:

• Proficiency in 3M, Case Management Software, Legal software, LexisNexis, and Management System.

• Expertise in Briefing, Civil Litigation, Claim Administration, Complaint Handling, and Documentation.

• Knowledge and experience in handling Medical Malpractice cases. Requirements • Must hold a detail oriented degree in law (J.D. or equivalent)

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney or lawyer

• Proficiency in using legal software such as LexisNexis, 3M, Case Management Software, and other relevant management systems

• Experience in civil litigation and claim administration is essential

• Familiarity with medical malpractice law is a plus

• Ability to draft and manage legal documentation

• Skilled in briefing and complaint handling

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must adhere to detail oriented ethics and demonstrate a high level of integrity

• Must be authorized to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
