Role description

Supporting the Engineering and Design team you will be given the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge throughout all disciplines, available to you within the Engineering department. You will do this by rotating through a number of disciplines on a time period basis as detailed below:

  • Discipline Specific Engineering – You will spend an initial 12 months within your specific disciplines Engineering and Design team where you will gain experience working on both FEED and detailed designs for both single discipline and EPC / EPCM projects and return following the various rotations through to the end of the graduate program.

  • Multi discipline rotation – You will spend one month within each of the disciplines outside of your core discipline (Mechanical, Process, CS&A, EC&I, Process Safety Engineering) working on both FEED and detailed designs for both single discipline and EPC / EPCM projects to gain experience and knowledge of the relationship and interfaces required between the disciplines.

  • Bilfinger Group – You will spend one month within an Engineering and Design team in the wider Bilfinger group were you will gain experience in the close working procedures between the different entities of Bilfinger and how Engineering and Design is applied in different areas of the business.

  • Engineering Project Management – You will spend one month within the Engineering Project Management team were you will gain experience in budget and programme control including awareness of earned value, contracts and learning from experience factors in both single and multi-discipline engineering projects

  • Engineering Proposals – You will spend one month in engineering proposals supporting the proposals manager in delivering both single and multidiscipline Engineering proposals. You will learn about estimating and how to generate proposals from Client scopes, this will include learning into proposal writing and generating assumptions and exclusions for the basis of the offer

  • In addition throughout the programme there will be EHS&Q and Soft skills training including general management / leadership and the opportunity to participate in the Bilfinger Talent programme and time and support to progress CPD and collate evidence for progression of professional membership towards Chartership.

  • Graduated from University with a relevant Engineering degree in one of the disciplines mentioned above within the last two years

  • BEng / MEng in Engineering (Required)
