We're seeking a skilled Civil Engineer experienced in Municipal Engineering to lead engineering endeavors for municipal infrastructure recovery projects. This role involves overseeing both preconstruction and construction phases, ensuring smooth coordination with stakeholders to achieve successful project completion, funded by FEMA.Salary Range: $110 to $120 per hourSchedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 hours per weekLocation: NY, 12190Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in Municipal Engineering, including expertise in watershed management, hydrology, and FEMA-funded projects.Familiarity with procurement protocols, contractual obligations, and project management procedures.Responsibilities:Pre Construction Phase:Validate site data and repair scopes with stakeholders.Develop preliminary designs and cost estimates.Liaise with regulatory authorities for permitting requirements.Assist in bid package preparation and coordination of subcontracted services.Construction Phase:Obtain necessary permits and oversee project inspections.Administer contracts, resolve disputes, and manage change orders.Coordinate with utility companies and regulatory agencies.Maintain cost control and prepare progress reports.Technical Skills:Civil Engineering DesignHydrology and Watershed ManagementCost Estimation and AnalysisProject ManagementFEMA Project ManagementRegulatory ComplianceContract AdministrationQuality Control and AssuranceTechnical Writing and ReportingTeam CollaborationProblem-Solving SkillsGIS and CAD Software ProficiencyAdditional Requirement: The Engineer/Engineering Design firm shall indemnify Owner against all claims resulting from project-related damages or injuries.This role presents an opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure recovery, calling for an individual with dedication, attention to detail, and effective collaboration skills.
