About the role:

Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for an Engineering Project Team Leader position located in the Fargo, North Dakota facility. This Engineering Project Team Leader position is a high visibility leadership position within the Drivetrain group of Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division and reports to the NPI Program Manager. This Team Leader will be responsible for developing and running a portfolio of Reman NPI projects for drivetrain components across the Caterpillar machine product families.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure coverage of product offerings for drivetrain components by working with Reman Aftermarket Sales & Marketing, Industry Segment groups, LPSD Drivetrain, MBDs, Dealer and Customers.

  • Complete engineering technical analysis to understand bill of material, warranty, product offerings, and validation.

  • Work with Business Resources, Reman Product Engineering, and remanufacturing plants (CRDL West Fargo, ND) teams to build and evaluate business cases for product offerings.

  • Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.

  • Coordinating resources across the businesses with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing.

  • Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.

  • Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.

  • Technical Excellence: Extensive Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Project Management: Expert Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Team Management: Extensive Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

  • Requirements Analysis: Extensive Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Product Design and Development: Extensive Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance IS available for this role.

  • The primary location for this role is Fargo, North Dakota but can also be located in Mossville, Illinois.

  • 15-20% will be required for this position.
