Duties : Perform advanced development, support and implementation of complex systems using specialized domain knowledge and highly- developed business expertise. Lead large projects and programs with limited oversight. Mentor junior developers and maintain the high standard of code in the project through code review. Build infrastructure required to deploy code in the cloud system. Evaluate business and software industry trends and suggest improvements to processes, products and services. Contribute to the thematic Investing organization working on core trading applications to support users of the thematic offering and the Trading Operations representatives that monitor trade activity. Design complex micro services and make architecture designs for the tools best suited to the needs of the project. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $180,285 to $246,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Computer Science or related field, and 5 years of progressive post-Bachelor’s related experience.

Experience must include some experience in each of the following skills: Java; Apache Kafka, both Kafka Streams and the producer/consumer API’s; Designing and building robust REST APIs to connect with databases and web services for authentication and authorization protocols for internal applications; Creating architecture diagrams that include choices about tools and frameworks to be used in implementation; Deploying applications in the cloud using PCF, AWS, or GCP; Designing and developing SQL databases and integrating them into Java applications; and Microservice deployment using Bitbucket, Bamboo, Sonar, and Veracode.
