The opportunity

This position is responsible for the development and support of established business segments. The role will assist the development of business strategies for new and existing accounts. You will be accountable to aid in planning, development, and support of product/customer initiatives for large organizational accounts. These strategies will be inclusive of medical supplies, branded and generic pharmaceuticals. This position is expected to provide cross-functional support, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

How you’ll spend your day

Key Account Manager I, Development in the establishment of new channel accounts while increasing visibility and growth within existing channels.

Identify product, vendor and customer-specific opportunities and create innovative customer programs that differentiate our value with assigned accounts.

Create and drive account activities that achieve/exceed business objectives and revenue growth.

Support in the forecast revenue projections annually, adjust as needed, and effectively manage selling channels in specific accounts.

Support the development and implementation of company-generated customer initiatives which deliver incremental revenue.

Serve as an advocate (both horizontally and vertically) to enhance current business processes, policies, and strategies, while also continuing to expand industry knowledge and to engage with key industry stakeholders to ensure we are recognized as a cutting-edge/innovative industry distribution leader.

Assume a strategic account role for various assigned customer relationships.

Evaluate personal performance to objectives and work cross-functionally to ensure proper and effective plans are in place to meet account objectives.

Provide perspective/content to assist in Training/Mentoring Junior Staff

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education/Certification/Experience Required:

High School Diploma Required, bachelor's degree preferred.

3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry

3+ years of experience in sales, account, and/or general management

3+ years of experience in and knowledge of various distribution and selling channels.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

A commercially minded account manager with institutional presence and marketplace experience.

Understanding of pharmaceutical distribution in both the primary and secondary markets.

Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing industry environment and possess the ability to manage the complexity inherent in the pharmaceutical business.

Problem solving and issue resolution capabilities.

Solid strategic skillset with demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies based on competitive dynamics, economic goals, and customer requirements/needs.

Analytical with demonstrated ability to succeed in data-driven, process-oriented environment.

Customer centric with demonstrated use of Voice of Customer (VOC) to understand customer/market needs, while ensuring company revenue targets are attained.

Solid negotiation, collaboration and influencing skills, both internal and externally.

Ability to interpret detailed financial analyses and high-level pattern recognition to drive sales growth.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to deliver effective presentations to C – suite level executive audiences with support from Associate Director, Inside Sales.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Approximately 15% travel throughout the US
