Aerotek Fiber Splicer in Williston, North Dakota

Description:

Seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer Technician, you will be responsible for proper preparation and splicing of fiber optic cable within a telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Preforming fiber splicer; Mass fusion, single fusion, and ribbon splicing for 5G cellular projects

  • Proper preparation and splicing of fiber optic cable within a telecommunications system

  • Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber

  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation

  • Will be working inside of a splice trailer (HVAC Equipped), pulling splice boxes from various locations in the city, and updating whatever is called for in the plans

  • Complete daily production reports

Candidates will take cable, strand cable, pull fibers out, cut, utilize fusion machine to line up and fuse together, place in splice tray, and close case.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience splicing fiber optic cable

  • Experience with volt meters, crimping, and cable jack strippers

  • Ability to distinguish colors

  • Must be able to lift/carry50 lbs regularly

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions

  • Clean driving record to operate company vehicle

  • Good attitude, willing to learn
