Job Summary

BASIC SUMMARY:

The RightSource Business Development Manager role is responsible for overseeing the full pipeline of potential RightSource clients from early lead generation through to contract signatures and project initiation. Agreements and relationships have a medium to long sales cycle, are strategic in nature and require a comprehensive sales approach. While RightSource is part of larger Business and Divisional organization, this team operates with an entrepreneurial spirit and this role’s scope goes beyond purely sales activities to include operational and general management duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and maintain relationships between internal CRL stakeholders and external partners for RightSource projects.

• Manage the RightSource commercial pipeline from lead generation through close and project initiation.

• Collaborate with Marketing to drive the marketing strategy for the RightSource platform. This will include building brand awareness to facilitate early lead generation.

• Lead the development of business case submissions and analysis. Including the development of RFP responses.

• Conduct detailed research, financial analysis and develop contacts as appropriate to keep apprised of all new and upcoming RFPs released by clients in commercial, academic and government with Biologics QC Testing needs.

• Write, amend, review, verify and evaluate written proposals to assure agreement with the cost estimate, client specifications, and any internal assumptions.

• With direction from management, generate account-specific sales strategies to sell the RightSource Platform

• Work with management to prepare and provide accurate account forecasts throughout the year to track achievements versus goals.

• Provide regular reporting to executive management and communicate important proposal and business issues.

• Develop and qualify account leads through frequent customer contact and prospecting.

• Handle initial inquires and qualify all prospective opportunities. Identify the drug development business model at these accounts and effectively communicate the value proposition of the company's products and services.

• Work closely with business development representatives from other CRL divisions to ensure that the customer has a cohesive and responsive team throughout the cross-divisional sales process.

• Gather data on marketing trends and competitive products and pricing.

• Utilize CRM to capture customer information.

• Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner.

• Participate in sales meetings and trade shows as required.

• Act as key point of contact for clients.

• Assist in the development of departmental budget as requested.

• Assist operations with some general operations responsibilities for up to 35% of time. This may include some project management, technical writing, or management of operational systems depending on skillset.

• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in life sciences, sales, or related discipline.

• Experience: minimum 5 – 10 years related experience in sales in life science industry. Experience in a CRO/CMO preferred

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

• Other: Ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and re-evaluate priorities as situations change. Working knowledge of computer software (MS Office, MS Teams, Excel, Smartsheet) and database experience preferred)

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $98K - $130K USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location
