Job Description

HEME Heavy Fabrication team implements a worldwide common process for Hydraulic Excavator productions in Caterpillar facilities and outside suppliers that manufacture HEX heavy fabrication parts.

HEME Heavy Fab team deals with planning, implementation and management of common processes and quality control management for not only new products but also existing products on large fabricated structures and enclosure parts of THEX and WHEX. Also, quick and efficient countermeasure management is required against CPI issues occurred in worldwide regions.

This position will be responsible for :

• Manage worldwide THEX & WHEX NPI/NSI projects in heavy & light fabrication fields. (APAP management, Ramp-up workshops, DR/GW reports)

• Lead new technology implementation studies (Burn to shape, Forming, Fit up, Welding, Machining, Robotics and automation)

• Lead improvement activities for welding quality and efficiency

• Lead CPI countermeasure activities for heavy and light fabrication parts.

• Lead management of training procedures for welders, operators and trainers

• Lead deep dive process observation audits planning and execution.

Requirements :

• Several years of experience in the field of Welding and Fabrication (all the better if having HEX fabrication experiences)

• Deep knowledge of welding technology and machining technology

• Familiar with welding & machining related manufacturing standards

• Superior skills of communication and negotiation in English language.

• Available for domestic and international business trips (covering facilities and local suppliers in NA, SA, EUR, India, China and Japan.)

• Travel frequency will be once a month for discussion and workshop during current NPI phase, Duration will be 1-2 weeks/trip
